“I don’t know what to do, I don’t know who to call. I have so fucking fear. Genre, it’s cave, ”says Audrey Gaudreau, while she films herself in the metro. She adds that she used the intercom to speak to an employee of the Société de transport de Montréal (STM), but no one answered her.

After being identified by Audrey Gaudreau in her video, the STM responded to the metro user asking if someone had finally come back to her. “Yes, no stress, darling”, then replied the young woman.

In a second video, Audrey Gaudreau, visibly relieved, explains that a driver, named Marc, gave her a lift to the station after five long minutes in the tunnel.

A story that resonates

The two videos of Audrey Gaudreau’s misadventure have been viewed nearly 300,000 times in less than 24 hours.

Other users of the STM network who seem to have recognized themselves in its history have also shared their own misadventures.

Some people have wondered whether metro operators should ensure that the train is empty when they arrive at a terminal.

The STM retorts

Joined by 24 hoursSTM spokesperson Phillipe Déry would like to remind métro customers of the importance of being attentive when approaching an end of the line or a terminus, as in the case of Audrey Gaudeau.

A voice message is also broadcast in all the trains to remind customers that they must leave the boat and operators must “normally” carry out a visual check of the train before returning to the rear station to change direction. before going to park the train.

Moreover, the STM is categorical: a passenger who finds himself in such a situation should not try to open the doors of the train or get off by himself, since the tracks are powered and represent “a great danger”.

The intercom near the doors can be used to contact the train operator, it is said. If there is no answer, it is always possible to dial 911 and the request will be forwarded to the STM.
