“Here are abortion pills. These are mifepristone and misoprostol. Everyone should know these names.” In a poignant speech, MP Natalia Broniarczyk tries to challenge the Polish Parliament on the country’s anti-abortion law.
“Members of parliament, by voting for the legalization of abortion, you can bring us justice and repair the damage. It will not give us back those who died, but it will give us hope that Izabela from Pszczyna and Agnieszka from Częstochowa will be the last victims of this ban.”
In Poland, abortion is virtually forbidden by one of the most restrictive laws in Europe. Abortion is only performed in cases of rape, incest, or if the life or health of the mother is in danger.
Natalia Broniarczyk is co-founder of the‘Abortion Dream Team and Abortion Without Borders. During a speech in the Polish Parliament, she returns to this anti-abortion law put in place by her country.
Faced with this situation, the MP is trying to find solutions. “You can order a safe abortion kit from womanhelp.org. We will be by your side if you need us.”
She also seeks to challenge the deputies present. “Poland’s abortion bans are among the cruellest anti-abortion laws. No matter what you vote for, abortions are still being performed and will continue to be.”
