We no longer heard about her at all, and yet her name marked the end of the 2000s. In December 2008, Amandine du 38 created a viral buzz and became a meme on YouTube, by publishing very rough raps and amateurs. Very quickly, the young Isère resident, then just 18 years old, finds himself in the spotlight and gains incredible notoriety. But this brutal buzz leads the young woman to suffer taunts, insults and school harassment. His harassers find his real identity, that of his parents, their postal address, as well as their telephone numbers, and his life very quickly becomes hell. The young woman is out of schoolabruptly stops his studies, and even attempts to end his life.
Fifteen years later, Amandine has changed a lot. The journalists of Melty found the young woman, who is now 34 years old. In an interview she gave them, the Iséroise returned to the harassment she suffered, and even claimed to be one of the first personalities to be victims of cyber-harassment (in 2009, social networks were less predominant than today): “I experienced cyberharassment. At the beginning, I had a hard time with it but over time, I managed to cope. I continued my studies to do a CAP, but I abandoned it because I didn’t like it. I didn’t get along with the class compared to what I had done on YouTube. I was insulted for having Down syndrome (…) It hurt me to receive messages like that, but I managed to cope.”
Today, Amandine from 38 has seen her life change completely. She is the mother of five children, and has a large family which fulfills him more than ever. Better yet, she reveals that she turned to the Muslim religion and converted to Islam a few years ago: “I converted. I always wanted to be in this religion, I always kept it deep inside me. It’s been since I was 12 that I wanted to convert and there, I finally found the right person. Since I converted, I have been happy, and I have regained a taste for life.”.
Her children like the texts she published
Amandine from 38, who had two other nicknames Miss Amanda and Miss Sang, attempted suicide after a romantic failure which ultimately led her to join the Muslim community: “I wasn’t depressed but I was fooled by my ex who wanted to use me to get French papers, and I almost ended my life. It is thanks to Islam that I felt at ease.” Today, Amandine smiles at life, and it is obviously thanks to her five children: “I am a mother of five children. I protect them so they don’t (make) the same mistakes as me, to go on social networks. I told them my story that I made music. You must not make the same mistake as me by posting on the internet” explained the one who ensures that she continues to write texts, but in the private sphere from now on. And his children love: “They like it”.
