Beauty, outspoken, always thirsty to shoot. Here is how we could summarize, very briefly, Isabelle Adjani and the person she is. Indeed, the 67-year-old actress never shows jargon and does not hesitate to say what she thinks, whether it may shock her audience or not. She proved it again during an interview with our colleagues from Paris Match. Interview in which she was promoting Masqueradea new film by Nicolas Bedos which will be released in theaters on November 1, in which she plays the role of Pierre Niney.
An actor she really appreciates and with whom she was able to shoot rather “hot” scenes, despite herself. Indeed, Isabelle Adjani first explains that “first, in editing, what was cut was the scene where Martha, my character, was going off the rails with a ‘9 1/2 weeks’ striptease”. This scene was intended “to cause the character of Pierre Niney to get an erection in good and due form. As the effect is long overdue, he projects one of Martha’s childhood films to achieve enjoyment”.
Changed scene and general surprise
If the actress had a small idea of the scene that it was going to give once the filming was finished, she was however quite shocked when she discovered the final rendering. “Me, seeing ‘Mascarade’ finished, I discovered that it was an almost porn sequence!”she says very surprised.
Surprise because “on the shoot, there was nothing on the screen because the embedding of a ‘charming scene with a slightly libertine side’ was planned…” In the end, Isabelle Adjani discovered with great astonishment that the sequence was “purely and simply” become “a sex scene that is offered to the libido of the ‘giton’ who lives at her place!”. “All this to tell you that when you’re an actress, you’re never safe from a surprise!”, she finally concluded.
