(Calgary) Logan Couture scored the game-winning third period goal for the San Jose Sharks in a 4-1 victory Tuesday over the Calgary Flames.
Tomas Hertl and Jonathan Dahlen added goals in empty nets and Alexander Barabanov also scored for the Sharks (7-4-1). Brent Burns had two assists.
Sharks goaltender Adin Hill, who played minor hockey and Junior A in Calgary, stopped 37 of 38 shots in the victory.
San Jose ended the Flames’ streak with at least one point at 10. The Flames lost in regulation for the first time since their first game of the season.
Milan Lucic scored for Calgary (7-2-3). Flames starting goalie Jacob Markstrom made 22 saves in the loss.
San Jose was without head coach Bob Boughner for a fifth straight game due to COVID-19 protocol.
The Sharks have said all players and team staff are fully vaccinated against the coronavirus. Assistant coach John MacLean replaces Boughner.
After a 2-1-1 record at home, the Flames begin a five-game road trip Thursday in Montreal.
