Shannen Doherty shares a video of herself undergoing radiotherapy and in tears

Shannen Doherty has been battling the disease for almost eight years now. The famous American actress received her first diagnosis of cancer in 2015 and announced that the disease had reappeared after a remission in 2017. Always present on film sets despite her condition, the pretty brunette then spoke in February 2020 to explain to her fans that this time she was diagnosed with stage 4 breast cancer.

Three years after this sad revelation, the situation has unfortunately just gotten worse for Shannen Doherty. This Tuesday, June 6, 2023, the 52-year-old actress took the floor to explain that she had carried out a new scanner last January. The latter then showed that she had brain metastases, which explains why cancer cells are now spreading from their site of origin to the brain.

“I will continue to fight to stay alive”
“On January 12, the first cycle of radiotherapy took place. My fear is obvious. I am extremely claustrophobic and a lot of things were happening in my life,” said the actress. “I’m lucky because I have great doctors like Dr. Amin Mirahdi and the amazing technicians at Cedar Sinai Hospital in Los Angeles. But that fear…. The restlessness…This is what cancer can look like. ” she added.

The former ‘Charmed’ star then concluded by saying, “I’m going to keep fighting to stay alive.” The actress has repeatedly explained why she decided to publicize her fight: “Is everything pretty? NO, but it’s true and my hope of sharing is that we all become more educated, more familiar with what looks like cancer. I hope I’m encouraging people to get mammograms, to get regular checkups, to overcome fear and face whatever may be in front of you.” she said on Instagram in October 2021 to raise awareness among Internet users.
