Shakira’s trial opens on Monday, November 20, in Barcelona (Spain), for tax fraud estimated at nearly 14.5 million euros.

Change of scenery for superstar Shakira. No more clips and glitter. Monday November 20 is court for the Colombian singer. Shakira, 46, was summoned this morning by the Spanish justice system, which accused her of not having declared her income and assets between 2012 and 2014, while she resided in Barcelona (Spain) with her ex-partner, the footballer Gerard Pique.

“I paid everything I owed”

The singer categorically denies these accusations, ensuring that she did not live full time in Spain. “I paid everything I owed, even before they filed a complaint. So I don’t owe them anything”, confided the Colombian artist. From the driver to the beautician, including the star’s neighbors, 117 witnesses will be called to the stand until mid-December. Unless an agreement is reached between her lawyers and the prosecution, Shakira risks up to eight years and two months in prison, as well as a fine of 23.5 million euros.
