The future is getting darker for the government curmudgeons. Gabriel Attal continues campaign trips: Thursday to Boulogne-sur-Mer, Friday near Nantes. Bruno Le Maire, still Minister of the Economy, was the guest of franceinfo Friday morning… But morale is not high: Darmanin, Dati, Lecornu, Dupond-Moretti and others, until Sunday everyone was preparing, each in their own way, for the rest of their careers. Since the announcement of the dissolution, they have had to review their plans and have been brooding.

Shocked, faces closed or defeated, some have their arms crossed… Soazig de la Moissonnière, Emmanuel Macron’s photographer, published black and white photos on her Instagram account. At the time of the announcement, the government heavyweights were stunned. “Everyone knows we won’t be here at the beginning of July!”laments an advisor.

Since then, ministers and collaborators have all put on the blue, but only for form. Gabriel Attal, to maintain the hope of staying at Matignon. Gérald Darmanin at his home in Tourcoing: on his leaflets, neither the President of the Republic nor the Prime Minister are present. Eric Dupond-Moretti hesitates to venture into the Alpes-Maritimes, “he is capable of it”, assures a friend. As for number 2 in the government, Bruno Le Maire, he decided not to go, according to a relative, “Afterwards, he will do something else!” “The president is playing catch with my country and my career”deplores one. “It’s collective suicide”, says the other. A now ex-parliamentarian sums up: “Macron killed them all”.
