The complainant is Kristina Charlotte Hirsch and she was 14 and 15 years old at the time of the facts she alleges. Warren Beatty was around 35. He was already known to the general public for his role as Clyde, in Bonnie and Clydewhich earned him an Oscar nomination in 1968. In the lawsuit, filed Monday in Los Angeles Superior Court, the plaintiff does not name Warren Beatty, but does refer to that role.
Kristina Charlotte Hirsch maintains that she met the actor on a film set in Los Angeles. The latter would have complimented him, would have given him his telephone number and would have invited him to his hotel room. According to the lawsuit, obtained by the magazine variety, Warren Beatty, now 85, allegedly “used his position and status as an adult and Hollywood movie star to force sexual contact with the complainant on several occasions”. The abuse of which she says she was the victim would have been spread over a few months. She seeks compensation for “psychological, mental and emotional distress”.
According varietythis lawsuit is possible thanks to a 2019 California law that offered a three-year window to allow adults who were sexually assaulted as children to override the statute of limitations.
