(London) The star presenter of the BBC Huw Edwards was named by his wife on Wednesday evening as the journalist who has been targeted for several days by sexual charges.
“I make this statement on behalf of my husband Huw Edwards, after five extremely difficult days for our family,” his wife Vicky Flind wrote in a statement to Britain’s PA news agency, referring to her husband’s depression issues.
“Once he is in a position to do so, he intends to respond to the articles that have been published,” said Mr.me Flind, indicating that he was made aware of the charges on Thursday.
The BBC has been in turmoil since the tabloid The Sun wrote on Friday that a star BBC presenter had paid an underage person in exchange for a pornographic photo. Other accusations of threatening or abusive behavior have been made in recent days.
