Severe weather slides east after generating tornadoes in Texas

The storm is now expected to bring dangerous winds to parts of Florida, Georgia and the Carolinas, meteorologists said.

Winter weather advisories are in effect from Missouri to Maine, and parts of New England could receive 8 to 12 inches of snow, according to the US National Weather Service.

The weather system is also dumping snow and ice over a large area of ​​the central United States.

Schools and businesses were closed Wednesday in Oklahoma, where up to 15 centimeters of snow fell in the central and eastern part of the state.
