Severe thunderstorm alerts and watches in several regions of Quebec

Environment Canada has issued severe thunderstorm watches for several regions of Quebec.

The regions and sectors of Estrie, Lachute-Saint-Jérôme, Lanaudière, the Laurentians, Mauricie, the Montreal region, Saguenay and the Richelieu-Saint-Hyacinthe valley and Vaudreuil-Soulange-Huntingdon are targeted by storm watches.

A severe thunderstorm warning has been issued for the Haute-Gatineau-Lièvre-Papineau sector, in Outaouais.

Environment Canada reminds that severe thunderstorms can produce strong gusts, large hail and heavy rain.

“Torrential rains can cause flash flooding and water accumulation on roads. Nautical activities could prove to be dangerous due to the violent and sudden gusts which blow over the bodies of water”, can we read on the government site.

Heat warnings have also been issued for several regions of Quebec.
