Despite the festivities surrounding Easter, various political figures took the time to pay tribute to the singer who marked the cultural world on several levels.

“I have fond memories of this charming singer, of Toast et café, of the youth music hall and of his tough role in Omertà”, mentioned the Premier of Quebec, François Legault, offering his condolences to the family of Paolo Noël, in a Twitter post.

For his part, the PQ member, Pascal Bérubé, recalled a beautiful memory with the singer when he presented him with the medal of the National Assembly in 2010. “He has achieved significant popular success over decades and s turned out to be a very popular actor especially in Omertà. My sympathies to his wife Diane,” he wrote in a tweet.

The leader of the Bloc Québécois, Yves-François Blanchet, also wanted to pay tribute to Paolo Noël on social networks. “Time tears us from great bits of our youth, the frank smile of a Paolo Noël, the look of our mothers who were a little cross-eyed, the sailor’s cap and the striped jersey, the seductive tremolo, the joyful humor.. hi!” he wrote.

At the cultural level, comedian Martin Perizzolo was the first to react, emphasizing the actor’s outstanding character in the Omertà series. “The best incarnation of a mafioso on screen, cinema / television combined: Paolo Noël”, he said in a tweet on twitter.
