Several taxi snail operations were underway on Monday March 4 in the morning in Île-de-France, Brittany and Gard, Ille-et-Vilaine, but also in Haute-Garonne. Other actions were to follow starting in the morning. The taxi union is organizing a new national day of mobilization against the new agreement linking taxis to the primary health insurance fund (CPAM). According to the inter-union, the CPAM is proposing an increase in reimbursed patient transport prices that is insufficient to cover their costs.

Ile-de-France

In Yvelines, between 300 and 400 taxis passed Vaucresson on the A13 towards the capital, according to France Bleu Paris. But they have been stuck since around 8:30 a.m. just before the Porte de Saint-Cloud. The highway is almost blocked in this direction, only motorcycles manage to get through.

Some non-union drivers want to drive snail-style for 24 hours on the ring road. “We were supposed to do two tours of the ring road, but we are now forbidden from going around,” explains Emmanuelle Cordier, national president of the National Taxi Federation (FNDT), who is not currently calling for these “24 h from the ring road. The objective of the demonstration was to gather at Les Invalides where 2,000 taxis are expected.

Nimes

In Nîmes (Gard), the call to demonstrate mobilizes “around 150 cars”. At 8 a.m. Monday morning, taxis from Gard, Hérault and Vaucluse met at the Nîmes-Ouest tollbooth, reports France Bleu Gard Lozère. The drivers then drove slowly through the streets of downtown Nîmes. “We are counting on around 150 cars,” declared Sandrine Clément, president in Gard of the National Taxi Union. The cars must meet in front of the CPAM at the end of the morning.

Rennes

In Rennes (Ille-et-Vilaine), taxis are stopped on the ring road. Since 8 a.m., a snail-like operation has been carried out on the ring road, between 220 and 250 taxis have been mobilized, announces France Bleu Armorique, generating more than an hour of traffic jams. Drivers from the four Breton departments are called to converge. They must go to the prefecture at the end of the morning.

Toulouse

In Toulouse (Haute-Garonne), around 150 taxis first gathered at Toulouse Blagnac airport. They drive towards the prefecture where they have arranged to meet at 11 a.m. They want to block several tolls, specifies France Bleu Occitanie.

Bordeaux

In Bordeaux (Gironde), a taxi operation must begin at 10 a.m. from the Matmut Atlantique stadium, heading to the city hall via the grand boulevards and the city center. The drivers will then go to the prefecture, warns France Bleu Gironde.
