several sectors impacted in the Marne

At the call of the CGT, FSU and Solidaires unions, several gatherings are planned in the Marne for this day of strike. The meeting is given at 10 a.m. in front of the Maison des Syndicats in Reims and Châlons-en-Champagne. The other Marne processions will meet at 10 a.m. place Carnot for Epernay and 11:30 a.m. place d’Armes in Vitry-le-François. These demonstrations respond to the national call of the CGT, FSU and Solidaires unions. Their demands: an increase in purchasing power by moving to a revaluation of the minimum wage as well as the retirement age at 60 years.

Public transport

It will therefore be necessary to plan ahead to get around using public transport since many many disturbances are to be expected. The Reims Citura public transport network will be greatly impacted. Buses and trams will only run from 6 a.m. until 8 p.m.

Regarding tram traffic, on line A, there is a tram every 15 minutes or so. For line B, it will be every 45 minutes.

On the bus side, about ten buses will not run all day. Lines 6, 7, 8, 9, 11, 12, 30, 40, C and N are affected. For lines 1, 2, 3, 4 and 5, it will take 20 minutes between each pass. Small particularity for line 1 which will not serve the Thillois and Champigny sectors. Lines 13, 14, 15, 16, 17, 18 and some TADs will continue to run normally throughout the day, with however some schedule changes since the last buses will stop running before 8 p.m.

Conversely, public transport Mouveo in Epernay, Vitrybus in Vitry-le-François or Sitac in Châlons-en-Champagne will not be disrupted by the strike.

Railway sector

The SNCF warns its passengers that the service will be very disrupted and this from Wednesday September 28 at 8 p.m. until Friday September 30. While usually a TER connects Reims to Charleville-Mézières roughly every half hour (25 per day), this Thursday, there will be no more than ten regional trains that will make the trip.

TGV traffic is expected to be almost normal in the Grand Est. For those who go to Paris, however, the RATP provides some disruption on buses, trams and RER B. The metro lines and RER A will be spared.

School education

In Reims schools, some classes may be closed because of the strike but the town hall of Reims sets up a free reception for the parents of the pupils concerned. The reception is at the municipal leisure center Moulin Huon, from 8:20 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Is the school catering functioning normally?.

20% of teachers responded to the national appeal of SNUIPP, the teachers’ union. The exact rate of strikers in the region should be known on Thursday.
