A week ago, a 12-year-old Jewish girl was brutally raped in an abandoned hangar in Courbevoie. The three alleged attackers are between 12 and 13 years old. Several rallies were organized to support the young girl and denounce anti-Semitism.
On the faces, a strong emotion. Almost a week after the anti-Semitic rape of a 12-year-old girl, a new gathering was held in Courbevoie (Hauts-de-Seine) at the initiative of the mayor, Jacques Kossowski. “This gathering was only for this young girl and her family. A 12-year-old girl who was raped because she was Jewish. And that is unacceptable”did he declare.
Faced with the excitement caused by the affair, several demonstrations were held in France, such as in Nice (Alpes-Maritimes). The young girl’s lawyers also spoke on Franceinfo on Saturday June 22. “This child was affected because she was Jewish”, explains Me Muriel Ouaknine-Melki. Two 13-year-old boys are indicted and imprisoned for gang rape, death threats, insults and anti-Semitic violence. A third, aged 12, placed under the status of assisted witness, is indicted for the other offenses.
