Several obstacles expected this weekend in Greater Montreal

Motorists will once again have to be patient when traveling in Greater Montreal this weekend due to numerous obstacles, including on the Honoré-Mercier bridge, on Highway 50 and in the interchange of Highways 20 and 30.

The Montreal Mobility committee, which coordinates major work in the metropolitan region, detailed these obstacles Thursday in a press release.

Given important work on the Honoré-Mercier bridge, it will be completely closed towards Montreal on Saturday and Sunday from 5 a.m. to 9 p.m. Traffic will therefore be in the opposite direction, one lane per direction, on the part normally leading towards the South Shore.

In Boucherville, the eastbound Highway 20 service road, at the interchange, will be completely closed for the weekend from 9:30 p.m. Friday until 5 a.m. Monday. A detour via the ramp for Highway 30 West with a U-turn at exit 80 will therefore be put in place.

In Terrebonne, there will be a complete closure of Route 337 (Laurier Boulevard) in both directions, between Montée Major and Rue de l’Hortensia, from Friday 11 p.m. to Monday 4 a.m. For light vehicles, the detour will be via rue Rodrigue while trucks will have to pass via rang Sainte-Claire, the 5e Avenue and Martin Road.

For users of Highway 50, in Mirabel, a long detour is expected since it will be closed in both directions between routes 158 and 329, from 7 p.m. Friday to noon Saturday. A detour will be put in place via Route 158.

For those planning to travel between Montreal and Quebec, note that two lanes will be closed on the Laviolette bridge, between Trois Rivières and Bécancour. Only one lane in each direction will therefore be available, which could cause delays, from 8 p.m. Friday to 6:30 a.m. Monday morning.

Only two lanes per direction will also be available on the Île-aux-Tourtes bridge, between Vaudreuil-Dorion and Sennevillefrom 10 p.m. Friday until 5 a.m. Monday morning.
