Three men were arrested by German police in Berlin and another arrested in the Netherlands, in Rotterdam, by Dutch authorities.

The German federal prosecutor’s office, in charge of terrorism cases, announced on Thursday, December 14, the arrest of four men suspected of belonging to Hamas, three in Berlin and one in the Netherlands in Rotterdam. They are suspected of having planned to “possible attacks against Jewish institutions in Europe”, specifies the prosecution in a press release.
The four men are suspected of being longtime members of the Palestinian Islamist movement. The individuals are suspected of gathering weapons in the German capital for terrorist attacks.
Danish police and intelligence services (PET) also announced the arrest of three people earlier on Thursday. “This is a group that was preparing an act of terrorism”with organized crime, PET operations director Flemming Drejer explained during a press conference. The Israeli Prime Minister’s office said in a statement that the arrested suspects are also members of Hamas.
