It is an election which, in reality, leaves no room for suspense. “I voted for Putin, for our future, for that of our children and our grandchildren”, confides a lady. Everything has been designed for a new triumph for Vladimir Putin. His other weapon, electronic voting, could even allow him to better control the election. The president and candidate himself promotes it.
No opponent up to the task
In front of him, three competitors, front opponents. None overshadow him. His two main political opponents saw their candidacies ousted and his biggest rival, Alexei Navalny, died in prison a month ago. The head of the Kremlin is more powerful than ever. During his campaign, he did not bother to participate in the debates, but was content with a few appearances. Vladimir Putin hopes to reach 80% of the vote. A demonstration of force also addressed to the West with a symbol: inhabitants of areas of Ukraine controlled by Russia are encouraged to vote. An additional reserve of votes for Vladimir Putin.
