Several hundred strikers at Disneyland Paris for a pay rise

Several hundred employees from different trades at Disneyland Paris went on strike on Tuesday morning, supported by the CGT union, to demand a salary increase of 200 euros and double payment for Sundays worked.

More than 500 employees of various trades of the park such as the hotel industry, maintenance or security were on strike according to the CGT.

The strikers demanded a 200 euro increase per month, double payment for the Sunday worked, but also “improvement in working conditions”.

Contacted by AFP, Disneyland Paris, which has 17,000 employees, declined to comment.

The majority union, the CFDT, for its part asks the management “to open negotiations on wages now”, in a context of high inflation in France.
