Symbolically, the demonstrators had lit torches to find themselves in the middle of this Saint Jacques bridge, above this river where already three migrants have perished. A tribute was paid to the man who died over the weekend with a minute of silence, then the associations took turns speaking in French, Basque and Spanish to ask the public authorities for action, and in particular to secure the passage of these migrants between the border and Bayonne, to avoid new tragedies .

Next to the demonstration, on the Saint Jacques bridge, the police are continuing to check vehicles between France and Spain.
