Several departures of field fires, five in total, are reported at the moment, this Saturday evening, in Les Sables d’Olonne, near the place called La Mouzinière. A hundred firefighters are mobilized with 31 machines. As a precaution, several homes in the area were evacuated.

The first fires started around 5 p.m. An hour and a half later, 6 hectares of vegetation went up in smoke. The police are on site, between Talmont and Les Sables d’Olonne. The mayor of Les Sables Yannick Moreau (DVD) invites his constituents to be carefulat “protect our nature and our forces of order”. An investigation is underway to determine the origin of the fire.
