Several lists for the European elections claim to be ecologists while Marie Toussaint, head of the Europe-Ecology-The Greens list, struggling in the polls, called on Sunday June 2 to “defy the predictions”.
No less than 38 lists will compete during the European elections on Sunday June 9. Several of them claim to be environmentalists. Thus, “French Democratic Liberty” chose “to upload (their) ballots”, rather than printing them, announced his head of list Patrice Grudé. The “Peace and Degrowth” list is also in favor of ecology, but did not want to ally with Europe-Écologie-Les Verts, in particular for their position in relation to nuclear power: “They are not clearly anti-nuclear, and they are not anti-growth either”put forward the head of the list François Verret.
For its part, “La Ruche Citoyen” tried to unite environmentalists, without success. “We worked for a long time looking for a solution to form an alliance with the different groups and parties, since we both had things in common”, explained the head of the list Lorys Elmayan. This is a key vote for green parties, which historically obtain their best results in European elections.
