Horror scene on Saturday April 13, in the aisles of Bondi Junction Westfield, a busy shopping center in Sydney (Australia). A man stabbed at least six people. Several deaths were reported among the victims. The New South Wales Ambulance Service said a man had been shot by police and was believed to be the attacker. “I saw a man killing people, it’s the worst thing I’ve seen in my life. (…) I thought I was going to die”confides a woman, in tears.
Baby taken to hospital
Outside the building, numerous emergency and police vehicles quickly canvassed the area to evacuate the injured. “Five people have died, seven others have been transferred to hospital. A number of them are in serious condition, I know one of them is a small child”, said Anthony Cooke, the deputy commissioner of the New South Wales police. The police have not yet specified the motives for the attack. Australian authorities are calling for people to avoid the area.
