Angèle, Stromae, Vianney, Ninho, Bob Sinclar, M, or even Orelsan, to name but a few, performed at Les Vieilles Charrues. After two years marked by covid-19, more than 280,000 people attended the 30th edition of the biggest festival in France in Carhaix (Finistère).
Although this return delighted music aficionados, the good weather and the high temperatures were also part of it. “We also have 150 rescue workers and then field hospital staff. We also worked with the firefighters in case the temperatures were too high”, explained the director of the festival in front of the cameras of TF1. Festival-goers were able to quench their thirst or refresh themselves at the water bar, but also at fountains that have been installed everywhere under arbors, in the shade.
But the Finistère prefecture has indicated that four people have filed a complaint for stings of which they would have been victims. The Civil Protection carried out a total of 1,901 interventions, “mainly for mild trauma” like sprains. And 132 people had to be evacuated to Carhaix hospital.
But that’s not all since the national gendarmerie carried out 87 interventions. “A procedure for drug trafficking was opened following the seizure of 30 grams of MDMA”, explains the prefecture. Our colleagues from West France recalls that between the fall of 2021 and January 2022, more than 1,300 complaints had been filed for cases of injections at festivals or nightclubs. In France, as of June 16, 2022, the National Police Directorate has identified 1,098 victims and more than 800 complaints for injections. A figure which, at the end of the summer, will unfortunately have increased sharply…
