Violence following an arrest “without difficulty of a young man aged 18, author of offenses and contempt of the police“, specifies the prefecture of Mayenne in a press release this Sunday. “A small group of individuals, some of whom are minors, then used this affair as a pretext to commit acts of vandalism by setting fire to private vehicles and degrading others. “I condemn this violence and I fully support the police and firefighters who had to intervene”, declares to France Bleu Mayenne Florian Bercault, the mayor of Laval. “Violence must be condemned but violence is also a source of questioning as to the public policies to be carried out and that is all we will do in light of the ongoing investigation.“The town hall will file a complaint. Vincent d Agostino in charge of communication of Meduane Habitat, the lessor also condemns these facts, “it’s intolerable. Attacking administrative vehicles, associations working for the disabled or individuals, is not acceptable. _It stigmatizes a neighborhood and affects its inhabitants_.
