Several Alouettes players miss training

There were several notable absentees at practice for the Montreal Alouettes on Tuesday, including quarterback Vernon Adams Jr.

The noh 3 of the Alouettes has tested positive for COVID-19, and his name has been entered into the CFL’s health protocol. He will miss the Birds’ home opener on Thursday against the Saskatchewan Roughriders.

Head coach Khari Jones had already determined that Trevor Harris, who finished the game against the Toronto Argonauts last Thursday, was going to be the starting quarterback for this game. It is therefore Dominique Davis who will be the substitute for Harris for the match. Davies Alexander will be the team’s third quarterback.

Wide receiver Eugene Lewis also missed practice with a lower-body injury at the end of Monday’s practice. Jones believes, however, that the receiver noh 1 of the Alouettes will be on duty Thursday.

Linebacker Chris Ackie and guard Philippe Gagnon also missed the session.

The Alouettes will only hold a light training session on Wednesday before meeting their fans for the official presentation of the team at Complexe Desjardins at noon. The team will host the Roughriders on Thursday at Percival-Molson Stadium.
