On March 25, Serge took part in the demonstrations against the “megabasins” in Sainte-Soline. Hit by a grenade shot, the one who was stuck S for belonging to the ultra left, had been placed in a coma. He has just left, but his future remains worrying.
A month, almost to the day, after the grenade attack on their son, Serge’s parents wanted to speak. This Wednesday, April 26, it is therefore by the voice of a press release that they gave news of their son. Not reassuring news.
Indeed, Serge, who campaigned against the “megabasins” of Sainte-Soline (Deux-Sèvres), came out of a coma. But for his parents “this means that he opens his eyes, but by no means that he is awake”.
Since his treatment at the hospital, care has focused on various lesions and infections, caused by the grenade shot, but not only, according to his parents. They point the finger: “The conditions under which first aid was provided to him at the very site of the demonstration” before specifying that, that day, “the police [avaient interdit] firefighters and ambulances to access injured people to take care of them”.
Serge’s condition is judged by a “extreme fragility”. His return to consciousness is hoped for by the medical staff, but it is not yet effective.
In this same press release, Serge’s parents conclude by affirming that their son’s vital prognosis is still engaged, despite his emergence from a coma. In this regard, they wish to avoid any confusion: “To date, it is impossible to say that Serge will recover his senses and the use of his body (…) His vital prognosis therefore remains engaged. This is why we denounce any use that could be made of the Coming out of his coma: Serge is unfortunately far from out of the woods. To claim otherwise would be a pure lie”.
