Serious speeding | Man stopped at 200 km/h on Highway 20

On the night of Friday to Saturday, police stopped a man who was driving at 200 km/h in a 70 km/h zone, zigzagging between traffic lines, in Montreal.


The Sûreté du Québec (SQ) arrested the driver around 1:30 a.m. as he was heading west on Highway 20, at km 67.

The 30-year-old man from Candiac received a $2,430 fine with 30 demerit points, the SQ announced in a press release. His licence was suspended for a period of seven days.

The driver also received a $322 fine and four demerit points for swerving between traffic lines.

“Speed ​​is one of the leading causes of fatal collisions on Quebec roads,” the SQ recalled.
