A car crashed at the bottom of the Boulevard des Sources viaduct in the Pointe-Claire borough in the west of the island of Montreal, around 4 a.m. on Saturday, leaving two seriously injured.
The vehicle fell several meters below on Cardinal Avenue. One person was thrown while the other got stuck in the demolished car. The two individuals, seriously injured, were transported to a hospital.
The scene was protected for investigators from the collision investigation section of the Montreal Police Department (SPVM) and the speed could be involved according to Caroline Chevrefils, SPVM public relations officer.
This is the second time that a vehicle has fallen at the bottom of this viaduct. At the end of November, a man in his forties lost control of his vehicle and fell down the viaduct, ending his race on the hood near a bus shelter. Miraculously, the driver suffered only minor injuries.
