Sergio Ramos’ comeback against his former club Real Madrid may have to wait. Troubled by injuries since the start of the season and his arrival at Paris Saint-Germain, the Spaniard is again on the flank. The defender suffered a calf injury during training on Thursday January 27. He is already forfeited for the round of 16 on Monday against Nice. The player “must observe a rest period for a low grade muscle injury of the right calf (…) which will be reassessed mid-week“, communicated the Parisian club on Monday.

The defender is thus very uncertain for the round of 16 first leg of the Champions League against Real on February 15. The 35-year-old international spent almost the entire first part of the season in the infirmary because of a calf injury. Ramos relapsed in early December a few days after his big debut with PSG. While he thought he was finally rid of his physical worries by having taken part in three of the last four Parisian matches, in particular scoring a goal against Reims on January 23, the ex-Madrilenian saw his rise to power slowed down.

Another major player injured in the workforce of Mauricio Pochettino, Neymar must undergo new examinations on Monday for his sprained ankle suffered in Saint-Etienne on November 28. His participation in the shock against Real is also very uncertain.
