If the message is true and it is not a bad joke, the ex-goalkeeper would thus be the most famous player in the history of football to come out … even if he is now retired. The native of Mostoles near the Iberian capital is a true Real Madrid legend where he spent almost 25 years there, making 725 appearances for the first team. Zinedine Zidane’s former partner Karim Benzema and Cristiano Ronaldo, to name a few, have won La Liga five times and the Champions League three times. Then he left to finish his career in Portugal at FC Porto, where he stayed for four seasons. The greatest goalkeeper in the history of Spanish football, the Spanish international with 167 caps participated in all the victories of La Roja (nickname of the Spanish team), such as Euro 2008, the 2010 World Cup and Euro 2012. And, each time, he was voted best goalkeeper of these competitions.
