The request for sentence adjustment of Alain Ferrandi, sentenced to life imprisonment in 2003 for the assassination in Corsica of the prefect Claude Erignac and detained for almost 24 years, was granted on Thursday February 23, learned franceinfo from a judicial source.

“It’s a decision that is in line with the sense of justice and humanity”, reacted to franceinfo Me Françoise Davideau, lawyer for Alain Ferrandi, after his request for adjustment of sentence was granted. The man will benefit from a measure of semi-freedom of one year probationary on parole. The conditional release measure is pronounced for a period of ten years.

“It’s a decision that was hoped for”added Françoise Davideau, explaining that Alain Ferrandi would now “join an agricultural business”.
