Sentenced to 9 years in penitentiary | A foster father attacks a little girl from the DPJ for years

A man from Lanaudière who was a foster family for the Directorate of Youth Protection (DPJ) was sentenced to nine years in penitentiary on Monday for having sexually assaulted a little girl for years. “Repugnant” crimes, according to the judge. However, a neighbor had already reported the man to the DPJ years ago.

“Society had put its trust in you to be a foster parent and you shattered that. All this for sexual urges. I don’t understand. A very fleeting pleasure for all the harm it causes,” sighed Judge Bruno Leclerc, speaking to Alain Lavallée on Monday at the Joliette courthouse.

Visibly upset, the magistrate continued his anger regarding the proliferation of sexual crimes before the courts.

“Sexual affairs have become my daily life. … It turns out that we only do that. All my colleagues talk to me about it. That’s all we do! I don’t know what’s going on in the minds of men, especially our young men. This will have to be sorted out. This makes no sense in our society! », Launched Judge Leclerc.

Alain Lavallée, a 59-year-old resident of Saint-Calixte, pleaded guilty last January to charges of sexual contact with a minor, incitement to sexual contact and sexual assault. In addition to the DPJ’s little girl, Alain Lavallée attacked two other children and a woman.

The sexual predator and his partner sheltered children from the DPJ for years. However, at the end of the 90s, the DPJ intervened when a neighbor reported him for sexual assault. There was no follow-up to this intervention for an unknown reason.

More recently, Alain Lavallée attacked a seven-year-old girl who had been abandoned by her parents. The attacks were so regular that when her foster mother went out shopping, the child knew she had to wear pants and no underwear at the express request of her attacker.

Her foster father systematically asked her to take off her bra and forced her to remove her body hair. He regularly inspected her private parts to make sure. He also often asked the child to tell him that she loved him. He even had the nerve to blame his victim during his arrest.

The consequences of attacks on the victim’s life are extremely serious. The child’s new foster mother gave a moving testimony, but one nonetheless filled with hope and love.

“This child deserves so much. Lively love. We will be there for her,” she assured, her throat choked with emotion.

Judge Leclerc wanted to emphasize the altruism of the child’s new foster family.

“Luckily, there are people of inestimable value,” he summarized.

The media coverage of the case led other victims to denounce Alain Lavallée, including a neighbor and the daughter of a relative. In the neighbor’s case, Lavallée touched her breasts over her clothes on two occasions. Lavallée also sexually assaulted a woman many years ago.

Me Mélissa Plante represents the public prosecutor, while Me Pierre M. Gauthier defends Alain Lavallée.
