“Rent in many cases absorbs a huge portion of their budget and we wouldn’t want them to have to choose between paying their rent at the end of the month or paying for their medications,” says Gisèle Tassé-Goodman, President of the Network. FADOQ.
FADOQ calls on the government to do more to help seniors who are in a vulnerable position during this period of inflation.
Despite the announcement of the increase of approximately $ 200 in financial assistance for people aged 70 and over, the FADOQ wants another increase in the tax credit very soon.
“In the long term, seniors will need much more help to cope with the steadily rising cost of living. This is the reason why the FDOQ network is ordering another increase in the tax credit for seniors to support seniors in the next budget, ”explains Ms. Tassé-Goodman.
