Senators | Sixth player added to COVID-19 protocol

(Ottawa) The Ottawa Senators added the name of a sixth player to the NHL’s COVID-19 protocol, announcing on Wednesday that Josh Brown’s name has been added to the roster.

Brown joined forwards Austin Watson, Dylan Gambrell and Connor Brown and defenders Victor Mete and Nick Holden on the sidelines.

The Senators also canceled their scheduled practice Wednesday, as a preventive measure.

Associate coach Jack Capuano must also comply with the protocol.

Mete’s name was added on Tuesday, hours before the Senators face the Boston Bruins.

The Senators called off training Monday as a precautionary measure after Holden and Capuano had to be sidelined on Sunday.

They then entered the names of Connor Brown and Gambrell on Monday, adding that they would not be accompanying the team to Boston.

Watson has been under the protocol since Friday.

The Senators host the Los Angeles Kings on Thursday.
