In return, general manager Pierre Dorion gave up another doorman, Swede Filip Gustavsson. He has played 18 games in Ottawa this season, posting a 5-12-1 record and a .892 save percentage.

Talbot, meanwhile, reportedly expressed his displeasure at seeing Marc-André Fleury initial a new two-year contract with the Wild. GM Bill Guerin then assured that he wanted to retain the services of his two goalkeepers, but finally turned around.

A 35-year-old Ontarian, Talbot had an excellent campaign with the Minnesota team in 2021-2022. He went 32-12-4 with a .911 save percentage. He will run out next year the last season of an agreement earning him $ 3.67 million annually.

Gustavsson will become a restricted free agent at the end of the next campaign and his salary weighs only $825,000 on the payroll.

Recall that the “Sens” also acquired sniper Alex DeBrincat from the Chicago Blackhawks before the last draft.
