Senators lose 5-1 to Golden Knights

(Ottawa) Three goals in 7:54 in the middle period led the Vegas Golden Knights to a 5-1 victory over the Ottawa Senators on Thursday.



Jonathan Marchessault completed this charge with his third goal of the season, before completing a brace in an empty net.

William Carrie, Brett Howden and Alex Pietrangelo also scored for the Knights, who reduced their record to .500 (5-5-0).

Robin Lehner made 38 saves, being beaten only by Brady Tkachuk.

Filip Gustavsson stopped 35 shots for the Senators, who lost their third straight game. The team allowed five goals in each of those losses.

Ottawa (3-6-1) will play again on Saturday at home, against Tampa Bay.
