(OTTAWA) Ottawa Senators forward Austin Watson has been suspended for two games by the NHL’s Player Safety Department for hitting Boston Bruins defenseman Jack Ahcan.
Posted at 1:38 p.m.
Watson tackled Ahcan along the ramp midway through the first period of Saturday’s game between the Senators and Bruins.
The officials assessed him a Minor penalty for interference on the sequence.
Player Safety has decided to impose a two-game suspension on Watson, as they believe the hit was late and there was “significant” contact with Ahcan’s head.
The Senators faced the Washington Capitals on Sunday afternoon.
