DVTR, The Olympics
If you think everyone will be glued to their TVs to watch the Olympics competitions… you’re wrong. Jean Divorce and Demi Lune (congratulations for the original pseudonyms to Jean-Cimon Tellier, member of Gazoline, and Laurence Giroux-Do, singer of Le Couleur), who form the rock duo DVTR, have no intention of encouraging those who, and I quote, “Piquent piquent piquent piquent/In the pocket of the people and themselves/Piquent piquent piquent on steroids.” Phew. The jerky, fast and short chords of the guitars are reminiscent of The Hives, Les Breastfeeders and Les Marmottes Aplaties. Let’s point out that the duo will be at Osheaga on August 3, an opportunity to see in the flesh what we believe to be one of the most promising groups on our beautiful Montreal scene.
Gwen Stefani and Anderson .Paak, Hello World (Song of the Olympics™)
The song is a registered trademark, nothing less, hence the sign trade mark. And we find it in video on the YouTube account of the International Olympic Committee. Two big clues for the musical Sherlock Holmeses in search of the official anthem of the Paris Games. In vocal performance on Hello World (Song of the Olympics)TM)a world-renowned duo featuring Gwen Stefani and Anderson .Paak. But beyond those big names… is the song any good? The short answer: well, yes! The beat is infectious—you’ll be grooving to it, I promise—and the flow fast and the text sunny and good-natured. “We chasin’ that energy, makin’ moves/When we hit the party, that body groove/We chasin’ the sun, yеah. » Granted, the piece is a marketing tool – Coca-Cola, the main sponsor of the Olympics, will use it for its advertisements – but that doesn’t stop it from being good. Because beyond being thirst-quenching, it also makes you want to dance.

Dyme-A-Duzin and Money Montage, Trilogy
Donnovan Malik Blocker, stage name Dyme-A-Duzin, on the beats concocted by our friend Money Montage, has been offering volume 3 of its Olympian trilogy since Friday, after the first two issues published in 2017 and 2021. And for the record, you should know that these three sports albums were interspersed with the release of mixtapes titled… Training ! Yes, the guy doesn’t do things by halves! Linked to well-known names since his debut on the microphone – Erykah Badu, The Roots, Ari Lennox, Joey Bada$$ –, the MC is no longer the young prodigy of 2013 who dazzled us with the song Swank Sinatrabut he remains a sure value in our musical landscape.
