Felix Dyotte, It’s worse and it’s better (with Evelyne Brochu)

We can always count on Félix Dyotte to come up with little gems of timeless pop songs. It’s worse and it’s betterwhich he sings in duet with his great friend, the actress Evelyne Brochu, will appear on Aerosol, his fourth album which will be released on May 17. With its catchy and light melody, its synthetic arrangements with a new wave tendency – the singer-songwriter co-produced the entire album with Félix Bélisle of Choses Sauvages – but with its roots always assumed in French song, this new piece is embedded in our ears in just two listens. And it’s for the best!

Adrianne Lenker

The author of these lines regularly wonders how Adrianne Lenker manages to be so prolific. But, above all, how she ensures that each of her works, personally and as leader of the Big Thief group, is as successful, complete, profound. The singer-songwriter releases her sixth album under her own name, titled Bright Future. Its folk music has the great power to captivate and generate strong emotions. Lenker’s voice, so soft and powerful at the same time, tells stories written like writing a novel. With an intuitive pen, she sometimes describes events, scene by scene, leading the listener directly into her memories or dreams, in a captivating and touching musical pleasure. As in this piece, Sadness as a Gift. Being able to dive back into the world of Adrianne Lenker thanks to this gigantic album is a chance.
