Retirement is approaching for Marc-André Fleury and some of his teammates like to jokingly remind him of it. The Quebec goalkeeper made people laugh Thursday in training by using a cane as a stick.
The Minnesota Wild were practicing in front of a crowd at the TRIA Rink in St. Paul and true to form, the prankster had fun. Fleury has been engaged in a friendly war with forward Brandon Duhaime since the latter teased him about his age two weeks ago.

“For him to do all this at 50, it’s special and he’s great. He is an excellent teammate, an excellent player and you can see what he is doing at 50,” Duhaime said during an interview with the Bally Sports North network.
Fleury, 39, responded quickly by stealing the American’s clothes during the Canadian’s move from Montreal to Minnesota. Except that Duhaime returned to the charge by giving a pink cane to “Flower” during the most recent training.
Again, the masked man did very well for the full minute he protected the net with the walking prop. He even tried to use it to spear a teammate’s leg.
The Wild’s next game will take place on Saturday, against the Winnipeg Jets. John Hynes’ men have emerged victorious in their last four outings.
