He assures: “We will be perfectly ready for the Games in Paris.” Gérald Darmanin affirmed, Sunday October 29, that the means to ensure the security of the Olympic Games (July 26 to August 11, 2024) would be “tenfold” compared to those mobilized for the Rugby World Cup.

“The Ministry of the Interior will be ready to organize the opening ceremony” on the Seine, “to ensure the safety of spectators and teams”, he continued. Gérald Darmanin was traveling to the Saint-Denis police station (Seine-Saint-Denis) on Sunday.

The minister welcomed the organization of the Rugby World Cup from a security point of view. Some 11,000 members of the police and “around 3,000 municipal police officers” were mobilized “each day”.

“In two months, there were 4,880 anti-delinquency operations, or more than 80 per day, which resulted in 781 arrests”, he clarified. Gérald Darmanin adds that there was “around twenty malicious drones neutralized”.
