The Paris police headquarters has “strengthened considerably” security around the match between Paris and Barcelona, ​​announced the Minister of the Interior, Gérald Darmanin, Tuesday April 9, after one “threat” of the Islamic State group in the quarter-final first leg of the Champions League. PSG must welcome the Catalans to the Parc des Princes on Wednesday at 9 p.m. “We saw, among others, a communication from the Islamic State which particularly targets stadiums”assured the minister, questioned about this threat during a press briefing on securing the Games.

“Apart from this distinct threat publicly mentioned by the Islamic State, I have no elements accurateadded Gérald Darmanin. We do not know which place may be particularly affected, nor under what conditions.”

The terrorist organization had already called for “take action in sports venues” in a message reproducing the image “of a stadium, in this case the Munich stadium” in Germany, “ithere are barely ten days”, argued the Minister of the Interior. Gérald Darmanin explained that he had asked the DGSI “to communicate the information that we had to the other services of the other countries which are hosting the quarter-finals”the threat from IS is not specific to the PSG-Barcelona match.
