After “Star Academy”, soon the big return of “Secret Story”? On the airwaves of RTL in “We redo the TV”, Saturday January 7, Christophe Beaugrand confided in this eventuality which has been talking a lot for several weeks. The television man, who had succeeded Benjamin Castaldi in hosting the program from 2015 to 2017, said he did not have the information concerning an imminent return. “I don’t know if Secret is going to come back and I don’t know if it would be me who would be in the animation”, he said from the outset.
The one we find alongside Denis Brogniart at the animation of “Ninja Warrior” added: “I think it’s a format that needs to be handled well., and it is above all the casting that makes all the difference. Look at the cast of the return of Star Academy, we had young people who were well behaved, who spoke well and who had their personality. Sometimes they argued and sometimes they were touching. They were young people like there are plenty in today’s society.” And carry on : “If we manage to do a casting that is not, as we say in our jargon, a reality TV casting, with only girls who have breasts like shells and mouths like tires and guys who all have abs that nobody has in real lifeexcept if you play sports 24/24 and you can’t line up three words in French, it has no interest. Reality TV as it was then made really ruined the genre, I think.”
Last November on the set of “Touche pas à mon poste”, Benjamin Castaldi made a revelation confirming the many rumors that have been circulating for the past few weeks. “Apparently Secret Story would come back but on Amazon Prime. I don’t know if you are aware of it but in the end TF1 would have given up and it could happen on Prime Video”, had declared the columnist. For his part, Jean-Louis Blot, the president of Endemol France, recently affirmed his desire to relaunch this brand and not only it. “We are working on the return of Secret Story, Loft Story or the arrival of Big Brother. We are convinced that this is what corresponds to the use of the consumption of television programs today”, indicated the president of Endemol France in an interview with Puremédias.
