Secours Populaire launches a health service in Villeneuve sur Yonne

For the first time yesterday (Tuesday), the Secours Populaire branch in Villeneuve sur Yonne offered a health service to beneficiaries.

It is an additional service for people welcomed by the association, explains Monique Augé, the departmental president of Secours Populaire. “We know about food reception desks, clothing reception desks as well. When we have volunteers who are doctors or nurses at our disposal, we see how we can enter the health desk.”

It is therefore thanks to Maryse Sanguinet-Tonnerre, a retired doctor who notably worked at the hospital in Auxerre and the detention center in Joux la ville, that this reception is possible. What she wants above all is to listen. “I will adapt. If they need a blood test because they haven’t had one for several months. Additional tests. Urgent treatment renewals. It’s important if I can redirect to specialists. I will do tailor-made.”

In the future, the Secours Populaire could also set up a health service in Auxerre with volunteer nurses.
