Asked Thursday whether it would finally be able to meet this new deadline as the registration period for the retake exam and summer courses is coming to an end, the MEQ said it was confident that it was.

“The Ministry is making every effort to ensure that the corrections are made as quickly as possible, in particular by granting the possibility of working overtime, by assigning additional staff to support the operation and by training the integrated teachers to the remediation team. According to initial estimates, the steps related to the correction of the proof in question were to be completed by July 10, 2022. At this time, we believe that we are able to meet these deadlines. »

Be flexible

A spokesperson for the minister, Bryan St-Louis, adds that the network has been asked to “be flexible with registrations for summer courses as well as for the retake test”. ”

“Thus, despite the delay, the school network should be able to welcome students and offer the necessary support to students who need it to enable them to prepare adequately for the ministerial resumption test at the end of July 2022. “, he specifies, adding that “the college network has been notified of the delay”.

Quebec also says it is aware “that this situation can cause concern among students”.

Preventive registration

In this context, some schools, such as Sophie-Barat, in the Ahuntsic borough of Montreal, suggest that parents enroll their children as a preventive measure in the summer course if their grades so far suggest that they could find themselves in a situation of failure once the result of the single French test has been received.
