A second man on the run was arrested at Marseille train station on the evening of Tuesday, August 6, the Mulhouse prosecutor’s office announced on Thursday, August 8. He is suspected of being the driver of the car that deliberately hit a motorcycle near the Mulhouse courthouse on Tuesday afternoon. The passenger in the vehicle, and the driver’s brother, was arrested on Tuesday after the fatal shooting.

The two brothers admitted their participation in the events without the motive being clearly established, except that it was a recent dispute between people who had known each other for a long time, the Mulhouse prosecutor’s office said. According to the prosecutor, police custody can be extended by 48 hours. “under the title of organized crime”.
