(Montreal) Several shots were fired at the beginning of the night, Friday, at a commercial building in the Côte-des-Neiges district, in the northwest of Montreal.
A few hours later, the Service de police de la Ville de Montréal (SPVM) did not report any injuries, but no arrests could be made.
The police were informed of the shooting through calls made around 12.15 a.m. to the 911 emergency center.
Upon their arrival at the intersection of Boulevard Décarie and Rue de la Savane, the officers noticed several impacts of firearm projectiles on the building of an automobile sales establishment. A large number of cartridge cases were then found on the ground.
Several commercial establishments are located in the area. It is possible that some of them were equipped with surveillance cameras that were able to capture images of what happened.
Shortly after their arrival, the police set up a security perimeter. Investigators, forensic identification technicians and members of the SPVM canine squad must examine the premises in order to try to find out what happened.
It was the second shooting to occur in 48 hours in the borough of Côte-des-Neiges – Notre-Dame-de-Grâce. At the start of the night, gunshots rang out in a residential and commercial area at the intersection of Walkley Avenue and de Maisonneuve Boulevard West.
