“I confirm that I have voluntarily participated in an investigation into this complaint and have fully cooperated in this regard. I have nothing to hide and have acted in complete transparency, ”wrote the man of the Church in a statement released Saturday morning.
Thursday, we learned via the Weekly Golias that a woman nicknamed Marie filed a sexual misconduct complaint against her in the fall of 2020, for facts that would date back to 2008 and 2009.
With Paméla Groleau, there are now two women who have denounced the inappropriate actions of Cardinal Ouellet. In both cases, the Vatican has not brought any charges against him.
“I was ultimately informed that the complaint had been dismissed, in particular because the complainant had chosen, after filing her complaint, not to meet with the people responsible for the investigation,” said Cardinal Ouellet.

In both cases, it was Father Jacques Servais, a close friend of Cardinal Marc Ouellet, who carried out the preliminary investigation. A situation that has been denounced by several experts in the field.
The clergyman targeted by these allegations still continues to insist that he has nothing to reproach himself for in these cases.
“As I mentioned during this investigation, I deny having committed any reprehensible behavior with regard to this woman”, he indicates, stressing that no request to reactivate the complaint process has been made. .
Nevertheless, Cardinal Ouellet concludes his message by emphasizing the importance for the victims of “denouncing and not being discouraged by this type of publication”.
